About Purewick Urine Collection System
The PureWick Urine Collection System is a non-invasive, FDA-cleared solution for managing urinary incontinence in men and women — without insertion, without overnight waking, and without the risks associated with traditional indwelling catheters. Developed by BD (Becton, Dickinson), the PureWick system uses gentle external suction to continuously wick urine away from the body and into a sealed collection canister, keeping the skin dry through the night and reducing the need for caregiver assistance.
The system consists of two components: the PureWick Female External Catheter — a soft, cotton-gauze wick placed gently against the appropriate area — and the PureWick Collection Canister, a quiet suction pump unit that holds up to 2,000 mL of urine. The catheter is single-use and rated for 8–12 hours. The canister is reusable and emptied daily.
Originally developed for hospital settings to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs), the PureWick has since been approved for home use and is now one of the most recommended incontinence management tools for men and women who are bedridden, post-surgical, or at high risk of falls during nighttime bathroom trips.

Non Invasive
